About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for assisting customers throughout the boat-buying process, from initial contact through delivery and follow-up, while providing an exceptional customer service experience. The role involves hourly pay plus commission and is a full-time position, typically Tuesday through Saturday. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Software.
  • Knowledge of Order Processing Systems.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in the showroom, at boat shows, and through phone, email, and online inquiries.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend boats, motors, trailers, and marine accessories that best fit their lifestyle and budget.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and walkarounds of boats and marine equipment.
  • Explain features, benefits, warranties, financing options, and protection plans.
  • Generate and follow up on sales leads.
  • Prepare purchase agreements, sales paperwork, and customer documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate with the finance, service, and delivery departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Schedule and participate in boat deliveries and customer orientations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current inventory, manufacturer programs, and industry trends.
  • Assist in maintaining showroom displays, inventory presentation, and lot organization.
  • Attend sales meetings, manufacturer training, and dealership events.
  • Handles all aspects of customer service (internal and external customers alike).
  • Ability to handle customer and employee issues, along with communicating to management regarding issues that need to be addressed.
  • Responsible for promoting a positive culture within the department/store.
  • Cleans and organizes work areas.
  • Enforces safety, health, and security rules.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as required by management.
