About The Position

Denny’s 5th Avenue Bakery is a commercial and retail bakery serving clients in the Greater Twin Cities area. We are a fun and friendly team of professionals with a passion for delicious bread and pastries. We are currently hiring a full-time retail manager.

Requirements

  • Retail, Restaurant, and Guest Service experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading people, even better if you did it in a foodservice environment
  • Demonstrated record of continuous growth in bringing change to the forefront
  • Proven leadership with the ability to inspire others to work toward a common goal and reach their potential
  • A hands-on management style that emphasizes direct involvement in the day-to-day
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and alert executive leadership to potential areas of liability
  • Ability to function independently and intuitively in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized/strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to follow instructions with a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Reliable and punctual attendance

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and issues
  • Empower store team members to do their best work and engage with store guests in a sincere, service-oriented manner
  • Assist with candidate selection and cultivating new store team members
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure all new hires are properly interviewed, attend orientation, have required certifications and are trained for success
  • Mentor and coach team members by setting objectives and clear expectations
  • Develop team members by conducting regular evaluations against defined expectations. Correct deficiencies through coaching and instructing
  • Conduct operational aspects of the store on a daily basis
  • Ensure that the facility is a safe working environment by developing, implementing and evaluating safety programs
  • Oversee all inventory control procedures and quality control projects
  • Assist with purchasing and receiving food products, coffee, beverages and disposables, and other equipment
  • Review financial information daily and monitor the budget to compare actual to budgeted expenditures. Take action to correct or control deviations from the budget
  • Review operational performance and productivity, and guest satisfaction in accordance with goals and standards; correct any deficiencies
  • Responsible for the physical/aesthetic maintenance of the store
  • Other duties as assigned by management
