About The Position

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Retail Loan Credit Risk Reviewer in Wilmington, DE (multiple positions available). The purpose of the role is to safeguard the financial health of the bank by identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential credit risks associated with lending activities. This role involves executing Retail Loan Review operating procedures and independently evaluating the effectiveness of credit policy, underwriting decisions and processes. It also includes monitoring, evaluating, and requesting remediation of lending practices for first- and second-line risk teams, and testing adherence to delegated lending authority for US Consumer Bank. The position supports the team with responses to regulatory requests, prepares documentation and reports findings to appropriate forums and committees, and keeps records and periodically follows up on progress of findings raised by Loan Review in accordance with the Barclays Issue Management Standard. The role also involves completing ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by Enterprise Risk Management, and assessing compliance with laws and regulations, internal credit policies, operating procedures, and business rules. This position may telecommute pursuant to company policies and is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Requirements

Analysis of financial data, including income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and economic trends, to determine the risk of default.
Monitoring of existing loan portfolios to identify potential credit deterioration or early warning signs of default.
Recommendation of loan approvals, rejections, or adjustments based on risk evaluation and bank lending policies.
Development and implementation of credit risk mitigation strategies, including collateral management, loan restructuring, and workout plans.
Execute Retail Loan Review operating procedures and independently evaluate the effectiveness of credit policy, underwriting decisions and processes.
Monitor, evaluate, and request remediation of lending practices for first- and second-line risk teams.
Test adherence to delegated lending authority for US Consumer Bank.
Assist with creation of appropriate documentation and report/track remediation status of findings and issues.
Test lending decisions for quality of approval/decline outcomes and line assignment, and for adherence to Credit Policy requirements and criteria.
Identify opportunities through analytics that can be used in performance analysis and potential improvements to credit risk strategy and judgmental lending processes.
Support the team with responses to regulatory requests.
Prepare documentation and report findings to appropriate forums and committees.
Keep record and periodically follow-up on progress of findings raised by Loan Review in accordance with the Barclays Issue Management Standard.
Complete ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by Enterprise Risk Management.
