Retail Lead
About The Position
Tailwind Hospitality is seeking a motivated Retail Lead to help deliver a positive shopping experience for travelers. The role handles customer transactions accurately and efficiently, creates a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and leads by example by guiding and supporting the retail team. The Retail Lead helps ensure store policies and procedures are followed and works effectively in a fast-paced environment. The position includes leading and developing retail associates, assisting customers, maintaining merchandise and store presentation, and supporting inventory and delivery processes. Applicants must be able to pass a background check to receive an airport badge, lift 25–30 pounds, and have reliable transportation. The role requires 1–2 years of retail supervisory experience.
Requirements
- Experience ordering from and working with multiple vendors.
- Proven experience in cash handling and customer service.
- Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with customers.
- Basic math skills to handle transactions and provide change accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with POS systems.
- Ability to pass a background check to receive an airport badge.
- Ability to lift 25–30 pounds.
- Reliable transportation.
- 1–2 years of retail supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate retail associates, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Participate in and compile monthly inventories.
- Greet customers and assist them with purchases.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using a cash register.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
- Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
- Process returns and exchanges according to company policies.
- Stock shelves and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase product features and benefits.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Train and develop retail cashiers to help ensure they meet goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Organize initial deliveries, unpack boxes, put away merchandise, organize items, and scan, price, and barcode new items with gift shop staff.
- Report missing delivery items to the General Manager as soon as possible.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
