About The Position

Under the direction of the Retail Location Manager, the Retail Inventory & Receiving Associate 2 is responsible for coordinating and processing high-volume product receiving operations for one or more assigned retail locations. This role ensures the accurate receipt, documentation, and transfer of inventory while maintaining current cost information and supporting inventory accuracy through daily, weekly, and month-end reporting. The position serves as a key liaison between retail locations, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate inventory movement, resolve receiving discrepancies, support inventory reconciliation activities, and ensure efficient inventory flow across the retail network. Through strong attention to detail and collaboration, the Retail Inventory & Receiving Associate 2 helps maintain operational efficiency and inventory integrity across multiple store locations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong math skills for pricing, transactions, and inventory tracking.
  • Proven ability to work independently, or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet recurring deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive, professional manner under all conditions

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a go-to team member for routine coordination and task execution.
  • Prepare, process, and verify purchase orders and receiving documentation for multiple retail locations.
  • Receive and process incoming inventory, ensuring accurate system entries and current product costing.
  • Coordinate the receipt, tracking, distribution, and transfer of inventory between locations to maintain product availability and inventory accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary contact for receiving-related inquiries, working with stores, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues and support inventory flow.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory, pricing, shipping, and receiving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate cycle counts and support inventory control initiatives to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor and process inventory adjustments and stock movements, ensuring accurate documentation and system updates.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve inventory irregularities, shortages, overages, and process concerns affecting operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory costing and ensure receiving transactions are recorded correctly within company systems.
  • Prepare and review inventory & receiving reports, ensuring month-end tasks and reporting deadlines are completed accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile inventory records, validate physical inventory against system records, and investigate variances.
  • Analyze inventory, valuation, margin, and operational data to support inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making.
  • Provide inventory-related reports and documentation for audits, financial reviews, and operational analysis.
  • Escalate significant inventory, costing, or reporting discrepancies to management and assist in their resolution.
  • Serve as a primary contact for inventory receiving inquiries from retail locations, vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate and communicate shipment status, inventory availability, transfers, and receiving-related issues with retail locations.
  • Collaborate with store teams, purchasing, and management to support efficient inventory movement and operational alignment.
  • Respond to inventory, receiving, and product-related inquiries, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of company products, inventory systems, receiving procedures, and operational processes.
  • Support inventory control procedures, receiving standards, inventory counts, system updates, process improvements, and other operational initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Follow all health and safety requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), including using required protective equipment, following safety procedures, and reporting any potential hazards.
  • Follow all company personnel policies, including expectations related to training, performance, and conduct.
  • Participate in required MCS training such as Ministry of Labour courses, Health & Safety Standards, Policies, and AODA accessibility training.
  • Work cooperatively with approved contractors and follow all related safety procedures when contractors are on site.
  • Maintain any required licenses, certifications, or regulatory requirements needed for your role.
  • Perform other assigned duties as assigned.
