About The Position

The Retail Freight Team Leader, identified internally as the Receiving Team Leader, serves as a store keyholder and oversees the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area in accordance with the company receiving area plan. The role is responsible for accurate, efficient, and timely freight flow to the sales floor, following established processing and visual merchandising standards. The Team Leader maintains receiving-area back stock and manages damaged goods to minimize profit loss. The role may also act as Manager on Duty and handle store opening and closing responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.
• Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays regularly.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while meeting strict timeframes and deadlines.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers and Associates.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and remain alert and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise direct vendor shipments.
• Manage freight flow in the receiving area and maintain equipment and a safe, orderly dock and exterior.
• Confirm incoming merchandise is accurate in accordance with company standards and set up and design merchandise displays.
• Prepare and process outbound transfers of merchandise and fixtures as required.
• Direct the work of Associates assisting with freight-flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and perform additional assigned responsibilities, including opening and closing the store.
• Maintain back stock in the receiving area and manage damaged-goods disposition to minimize profit loss.
