Retail Finance Intern

About The Position
This internship focuses on supporting the retail finance team with various analytical and reporting tasks. The intern will assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports, maintaining and improving reporting processes, supporting data validation and reconciliation, tracking KPIs, researching sales variances, and assisting with month-end closing procedures.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship experience in finance or accounting
- Familiarity with financial reporting software
- Knowledge of retail industry trends
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of retail financial reports
- Maintain and enhance retail financial reporting processes, identifying opportunities to streamline or automate reporting
- Support data validation and reconciliation of financial information across systems to ensure accuracy
- Track and analyze KPIs to support business planning and operational improvements
- Research and document sales variances and discrepancies, escalating issues as needed
- Assist with month-end processes, including reporting, reconciliations, and data validation
