Retail Field, POS, & Field Technicians
About The Position
Field, POS, Smart Lock Access & Network technicians are encouraged to apply. Technicians handle a wide range of installations, repairs, breakfix, and upgrades for retail security products, including POS systems, networks, networked devices, access points, routers, switches, and RFID smart lock access. They also set up and troubleshoot connections in various environments, connecting devices with physical cables or wireless frequencies to ensure adequate signal strength for clients. This role is suitable for Flexible Freelancers or Small Business Owners with weekday availability, as the company can work around other commitments.
Requirements
- Current Driver’s License, insurance, and a vehicle.
- Previous IT or Related technical technician experience is required.
- Technically inclined – experience with Cabling runs/ management/ testing/ terminating, Network provisioning.
- Excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
- Smart Phone mobile device.
- Flexible availability.
- Able to climb up and down ladders.
- Over the age of 18.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications are a plus but not required.
- POS experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Handle a wide range of installations, repairs, breakfix, and upgrades for retail security products, including POS systems, networks, networked devices, access points, routers, switches, and RFID smart lock access.
- Set up and troubleshoot connections in various environments.
- Connect devices with physical cables or wireless frequencies to ensure adequate signal strength for clients.
- Perform frequent use of hand tools.
- Travel in various markets.
- Test networks, Wi-Fi signals, and perform heat mapping.
- Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
