About The Position

This part-time position involves greeting customers at the store entrance, managing restroom access, checking receipts upon exit, and thanking customers for their patronage. The role is crucial for creating a welcoming first impression and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include receipt checking as a loss prevention measure, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with management to resolve issues. The Associate is expected to be responsive, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior Retail Store door attendant experience is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
  • Ability to use and operate computer programs (Microsoft, Think Risk, etc.) and other technology (phone, scanner, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to effectively convey information and interact with diverse individuals.
  • Good customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Friendly demeanor and a positive and approachable attitude.
  • Capacity to handle customer inquiries and concerns calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to connect with people and build rapport.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, especially in busy environments.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with a warm smile and genuine greeting.
  • Provide store information, answer questions, offer shopping carts or hand baskets, and direct customers to specific areas.
  • Manage customer flow during busy times and maintain a friendly and organized entrance.
  • Share relevant store information, such as item locations and discounts.
  • Inform customers about any upcoming events.
  • Thank customers sincerely for shopping and supporting the mission.
  • Check customers' receipts to verify purchases upon leaving the store.
  • Refer merchandise that cannot be validated by a receipt to point of sale (POS) for additional customer service.
  • Politely ask customers without a receipt or with an invalid receipt to return to the store to be processed through the POS.
  • File appropriate reports with the Risk department.
  • Use handheld scanners and devices to monitor transactions and report incidents via Think Risk.
  • Maintain a keen sense of observation to monitor people and identify suspicious behavior while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
