About The Position

This part-time position is located at the entrance of the Pueblo Store. The Retail Customer Host Associate will be responsible for greeting customers as they enter, managing restroom access, checking receipts upon exit, and thanking customers for their patronage. The role requires individuals with customer service experience who are enthusiastic and willing to engage with customers. Excellent customer service skills are essential. The Associate I, Retail Customer Host provides a welcoming first impression, greeting customers upon entry and thanking them upon exit. This role involves direct customer contact, requiring responsive communication and excellent customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience. A key responsibility is receipt checking as a loss prevention measure to verify purchases, prevent theft and fraud, and ensure transaction accuracy. The Associate must identify discrepancies, communicate with management to resolve issues, and maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior Retail Store door attendant experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Ability to use and operate computer programs (Microsoft, Think Risk, etc.) and other technology (phone, scanner, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and ability to take initiative.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English; bilingual is a plus.
• Ability to effectively convey information and interact with diverse individuals.
• Good customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Friendly demeanor and a positive and approachable attitude.
• Capacity to handle customer inquiries and concerns calmly and professionally.
• Ability to connect with people and build rapport.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, especially in busy environments.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm smile and genuine greeting.
• Provide store information, answer questions, offer shopping carts or hand baskets, direct customers to specific areas, and manage customer flow during busy times.
• Share relevant store information such as item locations and discounts.
• Inform customers about upcoming events.
• Thank customers sincerely for shopping and supporting the mission.
• Check customers' receipts to verify purchases upon leaving the store.
• Refer merchandise that cannot be validated by a receipt to point of sale (POS) for additional customer service.
• Politely ask customers without a receipt or with an invalid receipt to return to the store to be processed through the POS.
• File appropriate reports with the Risk department.
• Use handheld scanners and devices to monitor transactions and report incidents via Think Risk.
• Maintain a keen sense of observation to monitor people and identify suspicious behavior while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
