About The Position

This part-time position is available at the Pueblo Store entrance. The primary role is to greet customers, manage restroom access, check receipts upon exit, and thank customers for shopping. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, possess customer service experience, and be willing to engage with customers. Excellent customer service skills are essential. The Associate I, Retail Customer Host provides a welcoming first impression, greeting customers upon entry and thanking them upon exit. This role involves direct customer interaction, requiring responsive communication and excellent customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience. A key responsibility is receipt checking as a loss prevention measure, verifying purchases against receipts to prevent theft and fraud, ensuring transaction accuracy, and providing customer service. The Associate must identify discrepancies and collaborate with customers and management to resolve issues, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements

• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Must have the ability to use and operate computer programs (Microsoft, Think Risk, etc.) and other technology (phone, scanner, etc.).
• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must have the ability to effectively convey information and interact with diverse individuals.
• Good customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential.
• Provide a friendly demeanor and have a positive and approachable attitude.
• Capacity to handle customer inquiries and concerns calmly and professionally.
• Ability to connect with people and build rapport.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed with occasional overtime.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, especially in busy environments.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Retail Store door attendant experience is a plus.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm smile and genuine greeting.
• Provide store information, answer questions, offer shopping carts or hand baskets, and direct customers to specific areas.
• Manage customer flow during busy times and maintain a friendly and organized entrance.
• Share relevant store information, such as item locations and discounts.
• Inform customers about any upcoming events.
• Thank customers sincerely for shopping and supporting the mission.
• Check customers' receipts to verify purchases upon leaving the store.
• Refer merchandise that cannot be validated by the receipt to point of sale (POS) for additional customer service.
• Politely ask customers without a receipt or with an invalid receipt to return to the store to be processed through the POS.
• File appropriate reports with the Risk department.
• Use handheld scanners and devices to monitor transactions and report incidents via Think Risk.
• Monitor people and identify suspicious behavior while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
