About The Position

The Retail Custodial Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and completing cleaning tasks throughout the store. The associate also supports store operations by working in multiple areas, assisting with Front End coverage, and upholding customer experience, merchandising, safety, and loss prevention standards. The associate is expected to contribute to a positive store culture, communicate effectively with management and coworkers, and respond appropriately to changing business needs. This is an early-morning, part-time position at the TJ Maxx store in Holland, Ohio. The starting pay range is $13.50 to $14.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including floor care.
Operate the scrubber and buffer; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards and the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
Cross-train and work in multiple store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor, to support business needs.
Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
