About The Position

The Retail Cashier & Sales Floor Support employee provides friendly, efficient customer service at checkout and over the phone, assisting with sales, returns, and other transactions. The role also helps keep the department and sales floor organized, clean, and stocked; shares fashion and product knowledge with customers; and supports other store areas, including order fulfillment and order pick-up. The position requires working a flexible schedule based on business needs and meeting the physical demands of continuous movement and merchandise handling during shifts.

Ability to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions while providing excellent customer service.
Listen to customer needs and provide quick, easy, and enjoyable service, sharing enthusiasm for fashion.
Keep the department ready for customers by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
Stay informed about key fashion trends and products to help customers make purchase decisions.
Build customer relationships by sharing information about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Provide flexible support in other store areas, including order fulfillment and order pick-up.
