About The Position

The Retail Backroom Supervisor executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include orchestrating truck delivery and merchandise flow to the sales floor; training, mentoring, and coaching Associates; monitoring productivity; and maintaining backroom organization, merchandising, signage, safety, and compliance standards. The Supervisor communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and supports store shrink reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 760 Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The stated starting pay range is $13.50–$14.00 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The schedule is flexible and includes nights and weekends.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
