Retail Part Time Backroom Supervisor
About The Position
The Backroom Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The position also promotes honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and a positive experience for internal and external customers. The supervisor orchestrates truck deliveries and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and coordinates the flow of goods to the sales floor. They maintain backroom organization, recovery, cleanliness, signage, and merchandising standards; support safety, recycling, and applicable hazardous-waste programs; and partner with management on training, priorities, labor-law compliance, and shrink reduction. The role also promotes credit and loyalty programs and performs other duties as assigned. This is a part-time position at the TJ Maxx store at 2350 Tiffin Avenue in Findlay, Ohio. The starting pay range is $14.50 to $15.00 per hour, with actual starting pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

- One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute receiving and merchandising standards and ensure Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
- Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional customer service.
- Promote a positive internal and external customer experience, honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage, backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
- Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
