About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service.

The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and prioritizes moving merchandise to the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on processing and merchandising; ensures merchandise is tagged, hung, secured, and coded correctly; and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty to support an efficient flow of goods. The role also monitors team productivity, organizes back stock, maintains merchandising and signage standards, and upholds backroom cleanliness and recovery standards.

Additional responsibilities include supporting recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs, communicating priorities and progress, providing and receiving feedback, partnering with Management on training needs, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink reduction, and maintaining a safe environment. Other duties may be assigned.

• One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
• Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional customer service.
• Promote a positive customer experience and a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure an efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize tasks as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
• Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
