About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards and ensures Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, keeping the store clean and organized, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and works with the Coordinator on Duty and management to keep goods flowing and tasks on track. The role also maintains backroom organization and merchandising standards, supports safety and shrink-reduction programs, and ensures compliance with applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures. This is a part-time position at the TJ Maxx store at 830 Brookway Blvd., Brookhaven, Mississippi. The starting pay range is USD $13.50 to $14.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
