Part Time Backroom Coordinator
About The Position
The Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and role-modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries, prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and coaches as needed. The role organizes and rotates back stock, maintains merchandising and signage standards, and upholds backroom cleanliness, recovery, safety, and compliance requirements. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates, partners with Management on training needs, and supports store shrink-reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. This is a part-time position at the TJ Maxx store at 30164 Haun Road in Menifee, California. Starting pay is $17.90 to $18.40 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The position requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and the ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
- Promote honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
- Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
