Retail Associate - Weekends & Special Events
About The Position
Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats is looking for an enthusiastic Retail Associate to join our team on a weekend and occasional event basis. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with people, creating memorable customer experiences, and representing a historic local brand. Reporting to the Outlet Store Supervisor, the Retail Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of our retail store and Smokehouse Experience Tour program. This position primarily works Saturdays through Sundays, with additional opportunities to work special events, holidays, company tours, and other high-volume retail days throughout the year.
Requirements
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Friendly, outgoing, and energetic communicator.
- Comfortable speaking to groups and providing guided tours.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Dependable with excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift products as needed.
- Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with flexibility to work occasional weekdays for special events, tours, holidays, and peak business periods.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays remain fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, process purchases, and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Price merchandise and assist with inventory management.
- Help customers select products that best fit their needs.
- Process, print, and package online eCommerce orders.
- Lead guests through the Seltzer's Smokehouse Experience Tour when scheduled.
- Assist guests with tour waivers and provide engaging information about Seltzer's history, Lebanon Bologna production, and food safety practices.
- Maintain all food safety and food defense standards.
- Support seasonal promotions, company events, and other special activities as needed.
