OluKai Retail Associate - Charleston, SC
About The Position
The OluKai Retail Associate, or Huaka’i, is responsible for welcoming customers into the store and delivering a remarkable brand experience. This role is the first point of contact for store guests and calls for a responsible, outgoing, culturally minded, genuine, and service-oriented team member with an interest in premium products and the retail industry. The associate supports sales goals, shares the OluKai brand story and product knowledge, helps customers find suitable products, maintains store standards, supports back-of-house operations, and represents the brand at local events and giveback programs.
Requirements
- Must be available for at least three shifts per week, with shifts lasting 4–8 hours.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Independent work ethic, excellent time management, and organizational abilities.
- Positive attitude and high integrity.
- Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service; preferred but not required.
- GED or high school diploma preferred and/or in progress.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and deliver a remarkable brand experience.
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals.
- Engage with customers and build immediate and lasting rapport.
- Share stories about brand partnerships, product design inspirations, and the purpose of the products.
- Build expertise in OluKai product lines, stay current on fashion trends, understand customer needs, and communicate product selections that meet those needs.
- Resolve customer issues independently while maintaining a spirit of Aloha, including in high-stress situations.
- Maintain visual standards and store cleanliness.
- Assist with back-of-house duties, including receiving, processing, and restocking products.
- Use POS best practices to support a seamless consumer experience.
- Represent OluKai as a brand ambassador and participate in local events and giveback programs.
