About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador for the company, its brands, and its products. You engage consumers in personalized shopping experiences, use product knowledge to recommend products that match their needs, and share product features, benefits, and the brand story to influence buying decisions and build brand loyalty. You also contribute to store profitability and performance while assisting the Store Leadership Team in supporting the company’s mission of “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.” This is a seasonal position.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience engaging consumers and selling merchandise.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.

Responsibilities

• Engage consumers in personalized conversations to understand their needs and preferences.
• Use product knowledge to recommend products and answer consumer questions.
• Apply selling techniques and explain product features and benefits to influence buying decisions.
• Represent the Columbia Sportswear brand, share its story, and embody company values to enhance the consumer experience.
• Merchandise products and tell compelling product stories.
• Restock products and maintain sales floor standards, full product presentations, and product accessibility.
• Complete sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently; engage consumers during checkout and connect them with company loyalty programs.
• Receive and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to support inventory accuracy.
• Learn and follow store policies, procedures, and programs in day-to-day operations.
