About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and make product recommendations, while supporting customer service, teamwork, and the Store Leadership team’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. The role supports product availability, visual displays, customer inquiries, checkout, and store operations.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to communicate clearly with others.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally or in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• Ability to frequently move about in an active environment and adjust or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Skill operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or fewer years of experience in a position or specialization.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer questions about product features, benefits, and availability, and understand customer needs and preferences.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise and suggest suitable product options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Complete cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, efficiently and accurately.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
