About The Position

The Retail Associate supports the store by delivering a highly satisfied customer experience, stocking and preparing merchandise for the sales floor, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment. Associates follow operational, merchandising, loss-prevention, and safety standards and may be cross-trained in multiple areas to meet business needs. The role is based at TJ Maxx Store 1680 in Burnham, Pennsylvania. The listed day-side hours are 9:30 a.m.–7 p.m.; shifts vary, and availability is required for at least two weekends per month.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including weekend availability for at least two weekends per month.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Engage and interact with customers while following customer-experience principles and practices.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and provide correct change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
Support store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
