Retail Associate Production - Mechanicsville
About The Position
Contribute to Goodwill’s mission in a retail store by helping maximize efficiency, store appearance, and customer and associate satisfaction. Process donations in a timely manner so items can be placed on the sales floor. The role has no supervisory responsibilities and does not require driving as part of the job. A criminal background check is required. Associates must follow Goodwill safety rules and regulations and, if they have access to confidential information, follow the related privacy and security policies and procedures. Must be available to work Saturdays and may need to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
Requirements
- No previous experience required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available to work Saturdays and evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
- Must be able to work in a moderate environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions, including temperature, noise, fumes, or dust.

Responsibilities
- Inspect donations and raw materials for quality and marketability according to the Retail Operations Manual.
- Sort raw materials into categories for store use, salvage, or trash.
- Stand and tag donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system.
- Prepare and hang sorted goods for the retail sales floor in accordance with productivity standards.
- Produce the required number of items each day according to Goodwill’s minimum standards.
- Follow uniform dress code standards.
- Maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and learn new procedures quickly.
- Be cross-trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
- Follow Asset Protection control and compliance procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Adhere to the work schedule.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role.
- Follow Goodwill safety rules and regulations and applicable information privacy and security procedures.
