About The Position

Sandy Lane Hotel is seeking a temporary Retail Assistant for its Collection and Pro Shop retail outlets. The Retail Assistant reports to the Retail Manager and helps provide excellent service to external and internal customers. The role includes stocking and presenting merchandise, supporting inventory management, handling customer purchases and payments, and assisting with store operations and administration. It also includes attending to guests in the Pro Shop, helping with product selection, and scheduling golf starting times and collecting golf-related fees. The posting also describes a Senior Retail Assistant role, reporting to the Assistant Retail Manager. This position assists with management of the Pro Shop and Collection outlets, supporting store performance, customer service, sales, administration, staff development, and safe operations. It may deputize for the Assistant Retail Manager and act as Duty Manager when required. The successful candidate is expected to maintain high service and operational-efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

Check inventory regularly to ensure products are stocked and available for purchase.
Prepare bills and receipts and collect payment for purchases.
Assist the Retail Manager with inventory management.
Open and close the retail store as directed by the Retail Manager.
Maintain an accurate Customer Request Log and notify the Retail Manager.
Ensure merchandise is presented according to standards.
Keep the back store area clean and organized.
Monitor and update sales displays as required.
Perform administrative duties.
Upsell merchandise to maximize profit.
Attend to guests, assist with product selection, and make recommendations.
Schedule golf starting times, check in golfers, and collect greens fees and other golf fees.
Support the Assistant Retail Manager in maximizing store performance and identifying opportunities for excellence.
Provide administrative support to team members delivering customer service in line with Retail Culture.
Drive customer service standards to achieve sales and exceed customer satisfaction targets.
Assist in analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits.
Manage petty cash.
Assist with staff selection for training and development and identify performance issues.
Help maintain a safe and secure working environment in compliance with company standards.
Deputize for the Assistant Retail Manager and act as Duty Manager when required.
Respond to customer complaints and comments.
Assist customers on the sales floor, operate the POS, communicate with colleagues and customers, and identify or resolve issues.
