About The Position

The Restorative Nursing Assistant provides restorative nursing services to help residents restore, improve, or maintain bodily functions to the highest degree practicable, in accordance with each resident’s assessment and care plan and as directed by supervisors. The role includes providing and documenting restorative services, reporting relevant observations and changes to a supervisor, and contributing input to residents’ plans of care.

Requirements

Completion of a certified Restorative Aide training course.
Completion of a Nursing Assistant certification program and maintenance of a current, unencumbered certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Care about providing great care and having a positive impact on others.
Be a team player and quick thinker.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare experience providing direct care to multiple patients or residents, preferably as a CNA or RNA.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing environment.
Current valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Provide restorative services to residents, including range-of-motion exercises, splint or brace assistance, bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, dressing and grooming, eating and swallowing support, dining, amputation and prosthesis care, communication, positioning, bowel and bladder continence, hygiene, and use of adaptive equipment.
Document objective information and care provided in accordance with facility charting guidelines, including daily service charting and weekly summaries of resident progress.
Document and report observations and pertinent information about changes in a resident’s functioning, behavior, mood, or physical condition, as well as refusals of services, to a supervisor.
Provide input regarding residents’ plans of care based on experience and report approaches that work well for individual residents.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
