About The Position
Aegis Therapies, a leading provider of rehabilitation and wellness services, is seeking a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care. This role involves working closely with the therapy team, reporting to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy, to deliver wellness, fitness, and exercise programs. The position includes full onsite restorative training, making prior restorative experience unnecessary, though CNA certification is required. The role focuses on exclusive restorative responsibilities such as ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, and splint/prosthesis care, with limited traditional CNA tasks. Aegis Therapies emphasizes a holistic, patient-centered approach through its EnerG by Aegis programs, which focus on seven dimensions of wellness to enhance health and happiness in skilled nursing facilities.
Requirements
- Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
- Receive full restorative training provided onsite.
- Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
- Perform exclusive restorative responsibilities including Ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, and splint/prosthesis care.
