About The Position

The Restaurant Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing seating arrangements to ensure even distribution among servers, answering the phone, and providing a welcoming experience. This role involves maintaining the presentation of the restaurant entrance and menus, performing opening and closing procedures, and assisting with various administrative tasks as needed. The host plays a crucial role in setting the tone for the guest's dining experience at Crossings Cafe.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders.
  • Ability to obtain a food handler's card.
  • Must be able to work while standing for hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).

Responsibilities

  • Seat guests in a timely fashion, ensuring even distribution for each server.
  • Answer the phone promptly, ensuring it rings no more than three times.
  • Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and bid them farewell.
  • Escort guests to their tables at a comfortable pace.
  • Introduce the server to the guests when seating them.
  • Follow company standards of hospitality, including making eye contact, smiling, and offering a friendly greeting.
  • Inform servers of special requests, celebrations, or time constraints.
  • Follow approved check transfer policy.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures.
  • Provide the kitchen and management with a breakdown of large parties.
  • Perform mailing, posting, mailing list, and other projects as time permits.
  • Ensure tables are properly set before seating guests.
  • Ensure menus and wine lists are clean and presentable.
  • Post daily floor plans.
  • Stock supplies such as matches, business cards, and toothpicks.
  • Adhere to proper sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, stocking, sale, and appearance of retail items and the restaurant entrance.
  • Work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
