The VIP Host/Hostess will be responsible for controlling the flow of the restaurant through awareness of business needs/volumes, station assignments, breaks, etc. This role requires maintaining established company and Departmental uniform, appearance and hygiene standards, as well as a clean and organized work station. Side work duties must be completed efficiently and accurately. The position involves answering phones according to established standards, booking reservations utilizing the company reservation system, and assisting with station assignments, rotation planning, and opening/closing procedures. The Host/Hostess must maintain awareness of all activities in the dining room and possess knowledge of safety/guest liability procedures. Communication may involve the use of radios with headsets and earpieces. Proper radio and telephone etiquette is mandatory. Essential functions include exposure to casino environmental factors such as secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Shift assignments may be irregular and cover days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The ability to multi-task, effectively communicate in English, and work in a high-pressure environment is essential.
