The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant by leading the team, driving sales, controlling costs, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The GM is accountable for restaurant profitability, team development, operational excellence, and creating a positive culture where both guests and team members thrive. The General Manager leads by example, builds high-performing teams, and ensures every shift reflects sneakybird's standards for hospitality, quality, cleanliness, and speed.

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant management experience required.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.

  • Financial and business management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain top talent.
  • Train, coach, and develop Shift Leads and Team Members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance.
  • Address employee concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Manage corrective actions and performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Ensure all team members understand and follow company policies.
  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sneakybird food and service standards.
  • Maintain excellent guest satisfaction through exceptional hospitality.
  • Drive speed of service while maintaining food quality.
  • Ensure opening, shift change, and closing procedures are completed properly.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and coordinate repairs when needed.
  • Achieve sales, labor, food cost, and profitability goals.
  • Manage labor scheduling to maximize productivity while controlling costs.
  • Monitor daily sales trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Review and manage restaurant P&L performance.
  • Control food waste and inventory variance.
  • Approve invoices and ensure accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels and place food and supply orders.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts.
  • Ensure proper product rotation, labeling, and storage.
  • Maintain health department compliance and food safety standards.
  • Ensure restaurant is always inspection-ready.
  • Create a welcoming environment for every guest.
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Monitor online reviews and guest feedback.
  • Build relationships within the local community.
  • Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return.
  • Create and publish weekly schedules.
  • Complete required reports and operational paperwork.
  • Maintain employee files and training records.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and labor laws.
  • Communicate restaurant performance and operational needs with leadership.
  • Support local store marketing initiatives.
  • Build relationships with schools, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Execute promotions and community events.
