About The Position

The Restaurant Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dishwashing area and food and beverage operational facilities. This role ensures that cooks, bussers, and food servers have the necessary equipment for guest dining experiences. The position involves transporting, cleaning, and maintaining all cooking utensils, pots, pans, and service ware, as well as adhering to safety standards for food handling and product rotation. The dishwasher also assists with inventorying food and beverage deliveries, disposing of garbage, and cleaning trash receptacles. A key aspect of the role is operating the dishwashing machine efficiently and maintaining its cleanliness, as well as polishing silver for proper appearance. General cleaning tasks, spill cleanup, and floor maintenance are also part of the daily duties. The position requires the ability to move supplies and equipment, prepare food products as directed, and report any safety hazards or suspicious activity. Team members are expected to adhere to all casino policies, including the 'Eye, Hi, Goodbye' program, and understand that regular attendance and varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, are required due to the nature of the hospitality/casino industry.

Requirements

  • Ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions, comprehend job requests, and to read Material Safety Data Sheets and similar written materials.
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment used in your department, for example dish washing machines and equipment, ovens, broilers, grills and mixers, and knowledge of personal computers, printers, copy/scan/facsimile machines.
  • Ability to clearly present information verbally and in writing; read and interpret complex information; actively listen and talk with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrate a high level of service delivery to ensure guest and team member satisfaction; handle service failures and prioritize guest and team member needs.

Responsibilities

  • Transport, clean, and maintain all cooking utensils, pots, pans, and service ware.
  • Maintain the dishwashing area in conjunction with service staff and management.
  • Maintain, clean, and keep organized all Food and Beverage operational facilities areas, including service equipment, coolers, freezer, dry pantry food storage areas, and storage facilities.
  • Follow all safety standards about food handling and the policies and protocols for proper rotation of food products received and used.
  • Ensure that proper chemicals are applied within all food handling areas to include the dishwasher and three-compartment sinks.
  • Maintain all testing supplies to ensure sanitary conditions exist during normal operation.
  • Accept and properly inventory all Food and Beverage deliveries.
  • Transport and properly dispose of all garbage to dumpsters or compactor.
  • Clean and maintain trash receptacles and transportation carts and dollies.
  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled service ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly.
  • Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated.
  • Operate dishwashing machine to ensure proper finish on silverware.
  • Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely.
  • Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per Apache Casino Hotel standards.
  • De-tarnish/polish silver for proper appearance.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard Apache Casino Hotel cleaning products.
  • Clean up unexpected spills, clean and dry floors to prevent slip/fall accidents.
  • Separate linen from other debris.
  • Move supplies and equipment.
  • Perform daily tasks including preparation of food products as directed and assigned by Food and Beverage management and culinary management team members.
  • Advise Food & Beverage Management of any safety hazards and/or violations to insure prompt remedy.
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity to a supervisor immediately.
  • Perform other duties as requested by your reporting supervisor, including cross-training.
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
