About The Position

LCCPS is seeking an Elementary Math and Reading RTI Teacher to join their vibrant community of 815 K1-8 grade students, families, and staff. This role focuses on providing intervention assistance to students performing below grade level in reading and math. The RTI teacher will work with small, targeted groups, developing and delivering research-based strategies, and conducting consistent progress monitoring. Collaboration with teams for data analysis and regular communication with students, parents, teachers, and administration are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • MA Department of Education certification/licensure required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RTI or reading license preferred
  • Knowledge or experience in Fundations/Wilson Reading
  • Knowledge or experience in Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)
  • Knowledge or experience in DIBELS
  • Knowledge or experience in Read Naturally
  • Knowledge or experience in Guided Reading/Fountas and Pinnell

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support teaching team in the delivery of standards-based curriculum to selected students
  • Provide remedial/intervention instruction to students in small group and in team teaching situations
  • Provide consistent and data-driven progress monitoring with frequent assessment and consistent, organized reporting and an emphasis and focus on student growth
  • Analyze student achievement data and use results for instructional interventions
  • Create a teaching environment that is conducive to learning and encourages and develops student esteem
  • Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with students and be driven by student growth and achievement
  • Participate in the Child Study progress including a summary of student progress and need
  • Collaborate with RTI and ELL team as well as grade level teams; communicate student progress with homeroom teachers on a frequent basis
  • Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process
  • Use effective communication skills (oral and written) to present information accurately and clearly including the use of technology
  • Attend and participate in all faculty and staff meetings (dependent upon position hours and role)
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues and be a strong and collaborative team player
