About The Position
Baton Rouge Charter School for dyslexic children seeks highly motivated educators willing to train in evidence-based practices for dyslexia education. Requirements
- Certified teacher.
- Strong desire to receive rigorous, ongoing professional training.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- An open-minded attitude toward academic instruction, including a willingness to “work outside the box” of traditional instructional methods.
- A willingness to receive and implement feedback regarding instructional practices.
- Evidence of strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Evidence of individualized, interactive teaching philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Train in evidence-based practices for dyslexia education.
- Specialize and work towards further certification as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).
- Comprehend the unique challenges of dyslexic students.
- Acquire specialized instructional skills needed to help them succeed socially and academically.
- Participate in highly collaborative lesson planning and teaching situations.
- Train at the Dyslexia Resource Center while teaching to obtain additional certification in Dyslexia Education.
