About The Position
This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible. We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and adaptable respite care provider to support a young teen with autism who is creative, social, and full of personality. This one on one role centers on providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports emotional regulation, independence, and meaningful engagement. If you enjoy active days, thoughtful communication, and building trust with neurodivergent youth, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact. The respite provider will offer weekend care within their home, ensuring safety, routine, and positive engagement. Care includes supervision, emotional support, and participation in the child’s favorite activities while maintaining a calm and predictable environment.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable personal vehicle suitable for transporting the child
- Active auto insurance
- Patient, flexible, and committed to providing supportive care
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience supporting youth with autism or ADHD
Responsibilities
- Engage safely and appropriately in his interests, hobbies, and leisure activities
- Assist with medication administration and nighttime toileting as needed
- Support emotional regulation during challenging moments
- Maintain open, respectful communication with the family
- Provide consistent supervision and a safe, structured environment
