About The Position

Join Our Team as a Special Needs Nanny! Are you a nurturing and creative individual looking for a fulfilling part-time or full-time position? Step into a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of children with special needs, including those with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. As an approved respite provider, we're expanding our team and seeking dedicated caregivers in Sunnyvale and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Age: 18 or older
  • Driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Comfortable traveling to different homes in the area.
  • Must be located in or willing to travel to the San Jose area.
  • Availability 3-5 days per week from at least 12:00pm to 7:00pm. Weekend availability is also needed.
  • Communicative, dependable, and friendly personality.
  • Possess a cell phone with data for accepting and recording assignments.
  • Eligible to work for any US employer.
  • Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day.
  • Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations.
  • May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Any background in special needs caregiving is a significant plus.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a child-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in enriching activities, play games, create art, and positively impact the lives of special needs children.
  • Accepting and recording assignments.
  • Managing availability, scheduling, and job assignments.
  • The work environment will be active, kid-centric, and include clean-up of activities.
  • Part of each day may be spent outside, weather permitting, and will be active play.
