About The Position

The Respiratory Therapy (RT) Clinical Director is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the Program Director. The Clinical Director’s responsibilities include coordination, instruction, and evaluation. The Clinical Director determines student clinical rotation schedules as well as supervising all Clinical faculty members. The Clinical Director bears the primary responsibility for acquiring clinical sites and managing student placement at clinical sites in accordance with clinical affiliation agreements. The Clinical Director also shares graduate job placement responsibilities with the Director of Career Services and as such must regularly coordinate placement efforts with the Career Services department.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • Excellent Verbal and Interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required (Associate’s level program).
  • A Master’s degree in a related subject area from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required (Bachelor’s level program).
  • Hold a valid RRT credential and current state license – must be in good standing.
  • Have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical education with didactic education.
  • Determine student clinical rotation schedules.
  • Supervise all Clinical faculty members.
  • Acquire clinical sites and manage student placement.
  • Share graduate job placement responsibilities with the Director of Career Services.
  • Coordinate placement efforts with the Career Services department.
