About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to critically ill patients in a critical illness recovery hospital delivering inpatient post-ICU services. The role is per diem/PRN on the day shift, with 12-hour shifts, at a facility in Wilmington, Delaware, located inside ChristianaCare Wilmington. Compensation is $45.00 per hour, with weekend shift differentials, and the position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
