Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
About The Position
New Braunfels Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a per diem Respiratory Therapist in New Braunfels, Texas. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic surgeries, and other serious conditions. Its rehabilitation programs are tailored to each patient and delivered by a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment with modern therapy facilities and rehabilitative equipment. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a participating hospital of Ernest Health, which offers employee recognition, wellness, and retention programs and feedback channels.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
- Good judgment, initiative, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Nice To Haves
- One year of recent experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with breathing disorders.
- Perform laboratory functions.
- Assume primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments.
- Integrate the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
