About The Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Therapy and upon the order of the Physician, sets up and performs therapy procedures and equipment to be utilized in the treatment and diagnosis of respiratory disease or illness.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
- Must be Certified or Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy
- Must hold a current License by the Mississippi State Board of Health.
Responsibilities
- Patient assessment to evaluate patient's respiratory conditions through diagnostic tests and physical examinations to determine their needs.
- Work with Physician to determine treatment plan for patient including nebulizers, airway clearing techniques, oxygen therapy, Noninvasive O2 therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients' response to therapy and consult with Doctors and nurses to adjust care as needed.
- Mechanical ventilation will be monitored until the patient is transferred to another facility.
- Diagnostic procedures: EKG’s, Pulmonary Function Studies, and Holter Monitors.
