About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist who will support Adventist HealthCare’s mission to extend God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing. The therapist creates an appropriate clinical patient-care environment and performs AIDET, Mission and Motion initiatives, and AHC RISES values. This per diem role provides respiratory care to patients across all age groups, including care involving invasive and non-invasive ventilation, respiratory medications, airway management, and patient assessment and documentation. The position works nights as needed for shift coverage, with required weekend and holiday shifts and on-call duty.

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory program.
Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.
Active Maryland State license through the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Must obtain an advanced certification within the first year of employment.
Willingness to obtain an advanced certification when eligible.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience preferred.
NICU experience preferred for NICU 2791.

Responsibilities

Create an atmosphere and environment associated with a clinical patient setting.
Perform AIDET, Mission and Motion initiatives, and display AHC RISES values.
Set up, operate, monitor, document, and evaluate patients receiving invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
Deliver respiratory services and medications through appropriate modalities for patients of all age groups.
Assess and document patient outcomes in the EMR.
Perform SBAR and participate in rounds in the ICU and NICU.
Manage airways for patients breathing spontaneously and for respiratory-compromised patients.
Perform quality control and maintenance on assigned equipment.
Execute other duties as required.
