About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist who embraces Adventist HealthCare’s mission to extend God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing. This per diem position provides respiratory services to patients of all ages and supports patient care in ICU and NICU settings. The schedule is as needed for shift coverage, with 12 hours per week listed and a night shift. The position pays a fixed rate of $45 per hour and includes on-call duty. Weekend coverage is required, including one weekend shift in a six-week schedule, as well as one major or minor holiday. Shift differential eligible.

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved respiratory program.
Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.
Active Maryland State license issued by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Must obtain an advanced certification within the first year of employment and be willing to obtain it when eligible.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience preferred; NICU experience preferred for the NICU position.

Responsibilities

Create an atmosphere and environment associated with a clinical patient setting; perform AIDET and Mission and Motion initiatives and display AHC RISES values.
Set up, operate, monitor, document, and evaluate patients receiving invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
Deliver respiratory services and medications through appropriate modalities to patients of all age groups.
Assess and document patient outcomes in the EMR; perform SBAR and participate in ICU and NICU rounds.
Manage airways for patients breathing spontaneously and those with respiratory compromise.
Perform quality control and maintenance on assigned equipment.
Perform other duties as required.
