About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Grand Rapids is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a per-diem position on a day or night shift, with 12.5-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role includes an extensive orientation program and may offer potential opportunities to move into a full-time role. Compensation is $44.00 per hour, with competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends and a $5,000 sign-in bonus after 16 non-orientation shifts.

Requirements

Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Hold current state licensure.
Have ACLS certification upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
