About The Position

Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate inpatient respiratory care to chronic, critically ill patients recovering from critical illness and requiring extended healing and recovery. The role includes caring for patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions, evaluating their needs, and recommending appropriate treatment plans. The employer offers an extensive orientation program, a clinical ladder, and career development support.

Requirements

• Hold an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: college transcript or diploma preferred, or high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Obtain ACLS within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift; PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

• One year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
