About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care throughout the hospital in accordance with practice guidelines and approved hospital policies and procedures. The role is based in the Respiratory Care department at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, where therapists provide personalized, patient-centered care using the facility’s technology and resources. The schedule is 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with every other weekend worked.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of an approved AMA Respiratory Practitioner program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Current New Hampshire State RCP license.
• CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• PALS certification.
• One year of experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy orders throughout the hospital.
• Draw arterial blood gases and analyze arterial blood gas and cord, venous, and capillary samples.
• Manage life-support ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP.
• Respond to codes and emergencies for airway management.
• Complete all major competency verifications annually.
