About The Position

Endeavor Health is seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for Highland Park Hospital. This position is part-time, requiring 20 hours per week, with shifts varying between 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. Weekend rotation and holidays are required. The role involves providing comprehensive respiratory therapy to patients of all age groups, assessing their needs, documenting treatments, educating patients and families, and monitoring patient responses to therapy.

Requirements

Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required.
State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
Provide patient and staff education
