About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Augusta is seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist for night shifts. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists play a central role in delivering compassionate treatment to patients during vulnerable and difficult moments.

The position offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of future full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year. The stated compensation is $37.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
• Provide proof of graduation: a college transcript or diploma is preferred, or a high school transcript or diploma, or GED.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Have ACLS upon hire; agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS by their first shift.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related experience is preferred.
• A college transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
