About The Position

St. Mary's General Hospital is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a seasonal position running from October through the winter months as needed. Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager, the RCP I performs physician-ordered respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care while considering patients’ age-specific and population-specific needs. In the absence of a supervisor, the therapist may be assigned as Lead RCP and be responsible for the section or department during the shift. St. Mary's General Hospital is a community-based tertiary medical center in Passaic, New Jersey, providing acute care and services including cardiovascular care, cancer care, maternal-child health, and outpatient behavioral health. Requirements

State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience as an RCP preferred.
NRP certificate preferred.
Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory therapeutic procedures as ordered by a physician.
Perform pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician.
Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care, considering age- and population-specific needs.
In the absence of a supervisor, may serve as Lead RCP and assume responsibility for the section or department during the shift.
