About The Position

Perform Equipment Management Program services for medical equipment, including preventive and corrective maintenance, incoming inspection and installation, warranty coverage, vendor-provided maintenance, operator training, pre-purchase evaluation and capital planning, and equipment disposition. Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of all service events performed on medical equipment. The role also provides technical support and customer education, coordinates with outside vendors, and supports regulatory and safety compliance. After-hours on-call support is required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of full-time experience as a Clinical Engineer or Biomedical Technician.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills.
Ability to make sound judgments.

Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspection, installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and disposition of medical equipment.
Provide technical support for equipment pre-purchase evaluation and capital budget planning.
Work with customers and management to support appropriate technology utilization and provide technical support and in-service education on equipment use.
Coordinate with outside vendors to secure repairs and parts, and monitor the completion of vendor activities.
Prepare purchase requests for services and supplies; work with the Supervisor to verify invoices and Statements of Expense.
Maintain an accurate equipment inventory.
Document all medical-equipment service events in the CMMS in accordance with CE policy.
Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, and classes as requested.
Provide after-hours on-call support.
Observe health and safety requirements, maintain consistent standards of practice throughout BH, and ensure records comply with applicable regulatory safety codes and requirements.
Monitor workload and schedule activities to maximize productivity.
Exercise tact and discretion in patient care areas.
Provide technical reports as needed.
Perform other CE functions as workload necessitates.
