Respiratory Therapist- Night Shift
About The Position
Respiratory Therapists provide patient care that includes continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, pulmonary function testing, cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, infection control, isolation procedures, and administration of cardiorespiratory drugs. They serve as a resource to physicians on technical aspects of respiratory care and advise hospital staff on effective and safe methods of administering respiratory therapy. The Respiratory Therapist assists patients with airway management and performs other duties as needed. The position is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Must be licensed and registered as a Respiratory Therapist by New York State.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous ventilation and airway maintenance.
- Provide emergency care.
- Perform pulmonary function testing and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation.
- Carry out infection control and isolation procedures.
- Administer cardiorespiratory drugs.
- Serve as a resource to physicians on technical aspects of respiratory care.
- Advise hospital staff on effective and safe methods of administering respiratory therapy.
- Assist patients with airway management.
- Perform other duties as needed.
