About The Position

Vibra Hospital of Central Dakotas in Mandan, North Dakota, is a 41-bed critical care hospital providing long-term acute care for patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Patients may need care for complex conditions including trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. The hospital describes its environment as fast-paced and friendly, with opportunities to get to know patients and their families. The Respiratory Therapist provides efficient, quality-oriented patient care within the department’s policies and procedures. The role also includes equipment maintenance, changes, and inventory, as well as setting up and operating respiratory care equipment used to diagnose and treat respiratory disease or illness.

Requirements

Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program.
Current, valid, active state license to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor.
Obtain ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor within six months of hire.
Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

One year of critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide efficient, quality-oriented patient care within the scope of the department's policy and procedure manual.
Perform support activities, including equipment maintenance, changes, and inventory.
Set up and operate respiratory care equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease or illness.
